Michelle Crawford

Assistant Co-ordinator

Michelle was 15 when she started volunteering with Can Do, but she immediately clicked with the project and with the first young person she was paired up with. Building close bonds is important to Michelle and the strong relationships which develop between Can Do children, staff and volunteers are fantastic. The personal benefits are huge too, she’s picked up so much self-confidence and so many skills. Learning, for example, to communicate successfully with a non-verbal young person is simply amazing.

These days Michelle feels like part of the Can Do furniture, but she wouldn’t have it any other way – the rewards are genuinely so much better in this job than anywhere else, and there’s so much fun.

Fun also extends to Michelle’s social life. She loves spending time with her extended family and her rabbits Rossi and Elvis. She’s a huge music fan too, and particularly loves 80s nights and festivals.
