Elaine is Can Do’s numbers guru. A Chartered Accountant by trade, a chance encounter in 2011 with a Can Do parent on the school run started her career as a bookkeeper with the project. Her current role as Finance Manager is supported by her charity finance specialisms, and Elaine’s experience has proved invaluable as Can Do has faced changing legislation and regulation over the years.
Elaine says she feels like a venerable ancient in amongst all the bright young Can Do volunteers, but she finds the work fascinating. Not just because of the wonderful children and families but because of the amazing potential and commitment shown from the volunteers.
Elaine is kept busy providing a taxi service for her sons, but relaxes with dog-walking and gardening. A keen traveller who has lived in both Vienna and Delhi, Elaine brings a world view to her Can Do charity work.
